ENGAGEMENT

Susanne Rachel Hawkins Susanne Rachel Hawkins and Chad Joseph Whiting, both of Beaufort, will be married on September 2 in Beaufort.

Miss Hawkins is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Hawkins of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Elizabeth H. Childers, the late Coley H. Childers, the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Benjamin Poole and the late James Bonner Hawkins. A graduate of College of Charleston, she is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Whiting is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Whiting of Rochester,

Minn. He attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn., and currently works in the golf industry.
