BLACKSBURG - Eugene Franklin Pruett Sr., 71, of 135 McIntire Road, died May 9, 2006, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gastonia, N.C., he was the husband of Shirley Joanne Mellon Pruett and son of the late Edgar Pruett and the late Esther Torrence. He was selfemployed in lawn care and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Frank Pruett of Blacksburg, Jerry Pruett and Roger Pruett, both of Gastonia; three daughter, Bonnie Ester, Donna Pruett and dianne Pruett, all of Gastonia; one grandson and two granddaughters.

The family is at the residence.
