James B. Head

CHESNEE - James Ben Head, 70, of 1245 McSwain Road, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at his residence.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was the widower of Cleo Cobb Head and son of the late Jessie James Head and the late Geneva Revels Head. He was a retired farmer and truck driver for Pet Dairy. Mr. Head was first married to the late Margie

Ellen Willis Head. He

was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Daniel Head of Chesnee and Dennis Michael Head of Shelby; a grandson, Joshua Daniel Head of Chesnee; a sister, Juanita Head Saldo of Inman; and a brother, James Albert Head of Ft. Meyers, Fla.

In addition to his wives and parents, Mr. Head was preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd Head, Ralph Head, Hugh Head and Jack Head, and a sister, Brenda Marie Head.

Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Chapel at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Robert Hicklin. Burial was in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

Pallbearers were Estus Robbins, James Sprouse, Roy Smalley, Duran Turner, Gene Hawkins, Cecil Smith, Harland Mossburg, Harold Arrington and Bub McSwain.

The family is at the residence.
