Retired from U.S. Army

COWPENS - Michael Scott Davis, 40, of 251 Parris Road, passed away Friday, June 9, 2006, at 8 p.m. at his home.

A native of Cherokee County, he was the husband of Y a n e t Davis and son of the late Fred Davis Jr. and the late Mable Smith Davis. A 1984 graduate of Broome High School, he retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and was a member of Piney

Grove Baptist

Church in Cowpens.

Also surviving are three sons, Michael Sean Davis, Samuel Scott Davis, both of Germany, and Oreginal Davis of Cowpens; four brothers, Joe Davis, Bobby Davis, Ulysses Davis and Freddy Davis, all of Cowpens; three sisters, Frances D. Moore, Joyce Gibbs, both of Cowpens, and Patricia Harris of Gaffney; a niece and a nephew who were reared in the home as a sister and brother, Patrice Moore and William Moore, both of Cowpens.

Arrangements are incomplete. Foster Funeral Home of Gaffney is in charge.
