Gowdesyville Church hosting food ministry

Gowdeysville Baptist Church is an ongoing host site for the Angel Food Ministry, a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States.

Anyone can purchase a box of groceries for $25, which has retail value of approximately $60. One box will feed a

family of four for one week and a family of one for a month. Each month the menu changes and you can purchase as many boxes as you wish. Officials say this is first-quality food. Purchases can be made with cash or food stamps. No personal checks will be accepted. The church will have a representative

taking orders for the September menu on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. until noon at 107 N. Granard St., the building between the old Bargain Host and Bingo Gameland.
