College hosting blood drive today 'til 2 p.m.

Limestone College is hosting a blood drive on Friday, September 8 with the American Red Cross.

A mobile unit will be in front of the Stephenson Dining Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. In addition to receiving a Red Cross sun visor CD holder, everyone who donates blood from September 1 through September 11 will be entered into a drawing for an October Weekend Race Package.

The package includes two pit passes at Lowe's Motor Speedway and one Richard Petty Ride-Along Experience.

Limestone College will hold a second American Red Cross blood drive on December 1. Volunteers will be able to donate at both drives because the two events are scheduled more than 56 days apart.

Donating blood can be done in 30 minutes, and a single donation can save up to three lives. To give blood, donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a mininum of 110 pounds, and be in general good health.
