Al Tessner

Owner of Al's Motor Sport Racing

BLACKSBURG - Alford Alston (Al) Tessner, 67, of 350 Moss Crossing, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

A native of Shelby, he was the husband of Linda Hyatt Tessner of the home and son of Bill and Pauline M. Tessner of Blacksburg. He

was a self-employed

auto mechanic and owner of Al's Motor Sport Racing. He was a member of Broad River Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a son, Scott Tessner and wife, Jo Ann, of Blacksburg; a brother, Billy Tessner and wife, Carolyn, of Blacksburg; three sisters, Barbara Moore and husband, Vernon, Shirley Moss and husband, Neb, and Paulette Sanders and husband, Dennis, all of Blacksburg; and two grandchildren, Anna Tessner and Baylee Tessner of Blacksburg.

Mr. Tessner was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Lee Tessner.

The Rev. Vernon Moore will conduct private funeral services. Entombment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Gordon Mortuary and at other times they will be at the home.
