Man jumps through window to avoid police
BONIFACIO BERRIOS A Gaffney man jumped from a second-story window Sunday to avoid being apprehended by police, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states.
Police were attempting to serve Bonifacio Berrios Jr., 30, of White Oak Apartments, Apt. 24, 100 White Oak Road, Gaffney, with outstanding warrants for assault and battery and two counts of resisting arrest. Berrios now faces an additional charge of resisting arrest.
Nina Charmaine Robinson, 38, who police said lives with Berrios, is charged with harboring a fugitive.
Gaffney Police Department officers arrived at the home at 1:45 a.m. and asked Robinson, who answered the door, if Berrios was inside. She told officers he was not and would not give police permission to enter the home, the report states. Officer Jamie Kennington and Sgt. Scott
Tallent heard noises, as if someone was walking upstairs, the report states. The officers stepped off the porch and looked at an upstairs window and saw Berrios looking at them.
Robinson was arrested and then consented to the search of her residence. When police entered the home and
announced to Berrios that he was under arrest, Berrios jumped from a second-floor window and ran, according to the report.
