Player injured during game Thursday

A Chesnee Middle School football player was flown by Regional One to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after losing feeling in his extremities following a tackle during a game Thursday afternoon in Blacksburg.

Emergency personnel believe 14- year-old Dajohn Rowland suffered a stinger after being tackled into some bleachers shortly after 5 p.m. Rowland was treated and released from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Rowland lost consciousness and had no feeling in his extremities

immediately after the accident, according to emergency workers. Prior to being flown by Regional One to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Rowland regained some feeling in his hands, feet and legs.

An announcer at the football game told the crowd, "His feeling is coming back to his body."
