Dear Editor:

Dennis Fowler is a man who has served our communities in Cherokee County for many years bringing us the news and helping with many other charities like the fire service.

Now Dennis wants to further his dedicated service to our citizens by becoming our coroner. Recently his opponent placed an ad in a local newspaper stating he had the support of the fire service. I want to say that normally we do not endorse one candidate or the other but after the ad, we felt it necessary to set the record straight.

After talking to several other chiefs and members of Cherokee County fire departments, I found that we were not alone in our support of Dennis. I know I cannot speak for all the departments, but as for the community in which I reside and the fire department in which I am chief, he has the majority of the support. We believe he has the qualifications needed to effectively run the office. Also, his kindness and compassion makes him the only choice, we believe. Please join us on Nov. 7 in voting for Dennis Fowler for coroner of Cherokee County. Firefighters for Dennis Fowler
