Sex offender arrested

Local authorities ensuring registered sex offenders abide by the conditions of their release on Halloween have made an arrest as a result of those home visits.

The Cherokee County Probation and Parole Office has arrested and charged registered sex offender Robert McCaw, 115 Box Car Alley, Blacksburg, with violation of probation.

McCaw was not adhering to an ordered curfew, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.

Judge Mike Clary set McCaw's bond at $20,000.
