Great help in a time of need

Dear Editor:

We would like to give our most sincere thank you to each and every individual who has been here for us during the last 10 months.

My battle and defeat of cancer has shown my wife and I just how much people care about each other. During these hard and difficult times, you have shown your support with cards, prayers, personal assistance, financial aid, and other blessings that have ALL been of great help in a time of need.

First and foremost, we thank God for His healing and providing our needs through your support. We were blessed by many individuals, some whom we do not even know, yet we are eternally grateful.

We would like to send a special thanks to those who have a special place in our hearts: The members of Skull Shoals Baptist Church, our pastor Rev. Randy Phillips, employees of Invista in Spartanburg, New Covenant Church, fellow firefighters of Grassy Pond and Macedonia Fire departments, Ultra Lube, management of Wellstone Mills, and all of our friends, family, and coworkers who have made a contribution.

We also would like to thank the community for their help and support through the fundraisers.

Lastly, but most importantly, we thank my dad. He has been an inspiration to me and my wife. The sacrifices, hard work, and love he has shown cannot be described in words. Daddy, I only hope I can be half the father you were to me and my wife. Thank you for everything.
