Village School students hold in Metric Olympics

The South Carolina Academy of Science declared Oct. 8-12 as Metric Week. To celebrate the special observance, the second and third graders at The Village

School of Gaffney participate in a Metric Olympics.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, they moved their math lessons outside and participated in five Olympic events. They had to measure all the results in metric units. The events were the right-handed marble grab, the cotton ball shotput, the paper plate discus, the plastic straw javelin, and the big foot measure.
