Drugs for food stamps? Two Gaffney women were arrested for allegedly trading drugs for a food stamp card, a report at the Gaffney Police Department states. Officer Scott Tallent of the Gaffney Police Department has charged Latica Ann Scott, 31, of 506 Oak St. and Barbara Lee Gregory, 51, of 507 Oak St., with unlawful use of food stamps. Scott said the S.C. Electronic Benefits Transfer Card belonging to Gregory was declined when she tried to purchase $65 in merchandise from Food Lion, 1405 E. Frederick St., Gaffney, at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, the report states. Scott told police she had purchased the card with cash from Gregory and was able to provide the officers with the "P.I.N." number given to her by Gregory, according to the report. Gregory told officers the exchange with Scott was for drugs, and not cash, police said. |
