Edith Pierce

Edith Irene Pierce, 87, formerly of 1611 Overbrook Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at Peachtree Centre. A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Pierce and Virgie Benton Pierce. She was a homemaker and member of Draytonville Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Beatrice Easler and Ruth Pierce, of the home; niece and caregiver, Janice Bailey: nieces, Jackie Black, Jean Laughlin, Naomi Randolph and Patricia Gill; nephews, Tom Easler, Jerry Hollifield, Wayne Pierce and Ricky Pierce and numerous great and greatgreat nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Louise Pierce. Miss Pierce was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Pierce and Alfred Pierce; and three sisters, Marie Pierce, Gertrude Pierce and Odelle Hollifield. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Todd Braswell and Robert Ivey. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Draytonville Baptist Church, 179 Draytonville Church Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340. The family is at the home.
