Edith Pierce

Edith Irene Pierce, 87, formerly of 1611 Overbrook Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at Peachtree Centre.

A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Pierce and Virgie Benton Pierce. She was a homemaker and member of Draytonville Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Beatrice Easler and Ruth Pierce, of the home; niece and caregiver, Janice Bailey: nieces, Jackie Black, Jean Laughlin, Naomi Randolph and Patricia Gill; nephews, Tom Easler, Jerry Hollifield, Wayne Pierce and Ricky Pierce and numerous great and greatgreat nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Louise Pierce.

Miss Pierce was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Pierce and Alfred Pierce; and three sisters, Marie Pierce, Gertrude Pierce and Odelle Hollifield.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Todd Braswell and Robert Ivey. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
