U.S. Air Force veteran

Parks Lee Hill, 77, of 124 Berry Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Union County, N.C., he was the husband of Elizabeth (Lib) Hill and the son of the late E. Boyce Hill and Sara Baucom Hill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hill was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church, where he served as an assistant Sunday School teacher. He was a former deacon at Central Baptist Church in Gaffney and Green Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sheilah Hill of Charleston; three brothers, Douglas Hill, the Rev. Stephen Hill and Eddie Hill, all of Marshville, N.C.; four sisters, Geraldine Tilson of Charlotte, Frances Hill of Marshville, Carolyn Borders of Concord, N.C., and Diane Hill of Marshville.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Chris.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-7:30 at Blakely Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Jackson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to East Gaffney Baptist Church Family Life Center Building Fund, 2308 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; or to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, c/o East Gaffney Baptist Church, 2308 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
