Rosa Palmer

COWPENS - Rosa Lee Jeffries Palmer of 210 Smith Road died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2006, at her home.
Wife of Billy Dean Palmer, she was born in C h e r o k e e County, a daughter of the late Frank and Carrie Makupson Jeffries. She was a member and mother of True Holiness Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, usher, missionary, deaconess and senior choir member. She was also a member of The Gospel Harmonettes.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, James W. Wilson of Cowpens; two stepsons, Victor Dawkins (Linda) of Chesnee and Jimmy Lipscomb (Laura) of Gaffney; two step-daughters, Theressa Lipscomb of Gaffney and Kim Richardson of Utah, Arizona.; a brother, Carroll Wells of Cowpens; 17 grandchildren, including four who were raised in the home, Christi Williams of Spartanburg, Teresa Wilson, James E. Wilson, both of Asheville, N.C., and Lazarus Wilson of Spartanburg; and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Island Creek Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. officiating. Elder T.A. Lockhart will deliver the eulogy. Dr. A.L. Brackett, the Rev. Jacob Hunter, the Rev. James Armstrong, the Rev. Lewis Davis and Dr. L.C. Rector will also be on the program. Burial will be in Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. at The Gilmore Mortuary.
