Man charged in shooting death

CHARLESTON - A 26- year-old man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a Huger man during an argument.

Kendrick Gallard was pronounced dead at the scene Friday, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury said. An autopsy was planned.

Stanley Dwight Rivers was arrested and charged in Gallard's death.

The two men argued outside while several witnesses watched from nearby, Berkeley County sheriff's Lt. Cliff McElvogue said. Both men had guns, authorities said.

Deputies are unsure what the two men argued about.
