Two men missing in Lake Moultrie

CROSS - Two Bristol, Tenn., men were missing and presumed drowned after high winds overturned their boat during a fishing tournament on Lake Moultrie in Berkeley County.

Dave Cooper of Bristol, Tenn., was being treated for hypothermia at a hospital, Berkeley County Volunteer Rescue Squad Capt. Bill Salisbury said.

Rescuers were called about 2 p.m. Sunday. The Natural Resources Department, a Charleston County sheriff's office helicopter and a boat from the fishing tournament joined the search, which was suspended at dark.

Cooper told authorities he last saw his friends, whose names were not released, clinging to the boat.
