Mary Grubbs

Secretary at Mac's Chevrolet in Westminster for many years

WESTMINSTER - Mary McClure Grubbs, 88, formerly of Frank Street, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Peachtree Nursing Center in Gaffney.

Born in Anderson County on Sept. 12, 1918, she was the widow of Richard Marshall Grubbs. She was a former member of the Westminster Baptist Church, the As You Like It Club and the Westminster Garden Club and was a G.A. leader. For many years she was the secretary for Mac's Chevrolet Company in Westminster.

Surviving are sons, William Richard "Jack" Grubbs and wife, Margaret Miller Grubbs, of Westminster and John Michael "Mike" Grubbs and wife, Brenda Kelley Grubbs, of Gaffney; a daughter, Mary Nell Grubbs Barrett and husband, Dr. Ron Barrett, of Gaffney; six grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Her husband and parents, William Thomas and Pearl Marett McClure Sr., and a brother, W. T. McClure Jr., preceded her death.

Graveside services will be held today 11 a.m. at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca with the Rev. Scott Wachter officiating.

The family will receive friends at Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Westminster Baptist Church Building Fund, 212 E. Windsor St., Westminster, S.C. 29693; or Buford Street United Methodist Church, 113 W. Buford St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
