Carrie C. Godfrey
Carrie Elizabeth Creekmore Godfrey, 55, of 125 Humphries Circle, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
A native of Jellico, Tenn., she was the wife of John Wayne Godfrey and daughter of Bertha Naomi Silcox Creekmore of Jellico and the late John Berry Creekmore. She was a former radio announcer in Cinton, Tenn., and with WEAC in Gaffney. She enjoyed ceramics, cake decorating and painting. She was a member of the Church of God Church in Jellico and attended Berry Memorial Baptist Church in Gaffney.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a stepson, Jerry Lynn Godfrey of Gaffney; two stepdaughters, Mindy Godfrey Stowell of Mayo and Mary Ann Mason of Gaffney; a brother, John Wayne Creekmore of Williamsburg, Ky.; grandchildren, Angelica, Teresa, Lisa, Bessie, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Tyler, Eric, Bobby and Anna Beth; a special adopted sister, Dr. Jane Wasson; a special aunt and uncle, Lou and Bill Creekmore; and a special niece and nephew, Sandy Jo and Johnny Jr.
Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Berry Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Miller. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hitner, Dale Hitner, Tony Elumbaugh, Wayne Lewis, Frank Lewis and Wayne Lewis II.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens and at other times they will be at the residence.
