Lewis Humphries
Lewis Mitchell Humphries, 72, of 1413 Boiling Springs Hwy., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Shirley Brown Humphries and son of the late Ophy Humphries and Bessie Parker Humphries. Mr. Humphries was retired from Vulcan Materials after working for 40 years. He was an avid race fan and a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Donna Ellis and husband, James, of Gaffney; a sister, Juanita Honeycutt of Gaffney; and a grandson, Le'Mon Ellis of Gaffney.
Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by two bothers, Charles Humphries and A.E. Humphries, a sister, Evelyn Humphries.
Services will be held at Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Aycock and Rev. Martin Hogg officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
