Mount Olive tops Limestone Brandon Streeter had 21 points to lead Mount Olive to a 78-63 win over Limestone on Saturday. In women's action, Keona Corley had 11 points and 11 steals to pace Mount Olive to a 72-53 victory over the visiting Lady Saints. Saints third at swim meet The Limestone College swim team was third among 10 teams at the Savannah College of Art and Design Invitational on Saturday. The meet concluded on Sunday. USC to play in Liberty Bowl South Carolina and coach Steve Spurrier accepted a bid to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis where they will face Houston, the Conference USA champions. Spurrier became the first South Carolina coach to lead the Gamecocks to a bowl game his first two seasons. The Cougars and Gamecocks will play Dec. 29 at 4:30 p.m. The Gamecocks hope to continue their momentum. They have won their past two games. That included breaking a four-game losing streak to archrival Clemson 31-28 on Nov. 25. Tigers headed to Nashville Clemson coach Tommy Bowden has been pleased with his team's attitude and motivation all season - and he won't start to worry now with the Tigers heading to the Music City Bowl. Clemson (8-4) will take on Kentucky in the game starting at 1 p.m., Dec. 29. |
