Diabetes group to discuss the flu

Because people with diabetes are more susceptible to illnesses and infections, Upstate Carolina Medical Center will present a special “Cold and Flu Prevention and Preparation” diabetes support group meeting on Monday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. in the hospital’s cafeteria.

The guest speaker will be Dana Simons, RN/MSN, the hospital’s Infection Control Coordinator. She will discuss what you can do to protect yourself and prevent the spread of infection.
