Retired from Duke Power

James Albert (Frog) Potter, 77, of 104 Stroup Estate Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital after years of declining health.

Born in Cliffside N.C., he was the husband of Minnie Pearl Stroup Potter and son of the late Johnny P. Potter and Eula Seals Potter. He was retired from Duke Power and was a U.S. Army veteran,

serving in the

Korean Conflict. Mr. Potter was a member of Draytonville Baptist Church, where he was also a former deacon.

Also surviving are four sisters, Ruth Walker, Ava McGinnis, both of Mooresboro, N.C., Myrtle Ruppe and Vivian Greene, both of Gaffney; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews; and a godchild, Brittany Mann of Gaffney.

Mr. Potter was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Potter.

The family will receive friends from Tuesday from 3-4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Todd Braswell and Robert Ivey officiating. Entombment will be at Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
