Blacksburg town administrator, VFD chief dies unexpectedly Saturday at his home
      BLACKSBURG - Danny McDaniel, 51, of 604 W. Lime St., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his home. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Susan Patterson McDaniel and son of Betty Jean Lanier McDaniel of Blacksburg and the late Harold Dean McDaniel. He was Administrator of the Town of Blacksburg and a 31- year member of the Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department, serving as chief for 18 years.
