Cherokee County Sheriff's Department deputies and the Bloodhound Tracking Team responded to an armed robbery at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at Mr. Petro, 608 Hampshire Drive, Gaffney, a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office states.

A Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years old entered the store with one hand in his pocket and told a 17-year-old employee to put the money from the cash register and some Newport cigarettes in a plastic bag he was holding, the report states.

The man is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The robber ran from the store on foot. The tracking team attempted to locate the suspect, but was unable to do so.
