Franklin Bridges
Franklin Bridges, 77, of Pine Knot, Ky., passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in Lake Cumb e r l a n d R e g i o n a l H o s p i t a l , Somerset, Ky.
Born Feb. 29, 1929, he was the husband of Frances "Pat" Bridges and son of Rosa Lee Simmons Bridges of Gaffney and the late Edward Bridges. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa, and a son-in-law, Johnny Coffey.
Mr. Bridges was retired from General Motors, where he worked as a foreman in the paint department and in other management positions. He was working for Winn-
Dixie when he met his wife Pat and
they were married
on March 12, 1950. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed working in his yard and playing golf. He was a member of the Oneida Golf and Country Club and served in the United States Navy.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter, Rebecca Coffey of Pine Knot; a son, Anthony K. Bridges and his wife, Teresa, of Chicago, Ill; two sisters, Rachel Blanton and Peggy Dorman, both of Gaffney; and two grandchildren, Brian Coffey and Tracie Coffey.
Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Chester Morgan. Burial was in Pine Knot Cemetery.
