Saints, Coleman continue hot streak
Terrell Smith had 14 points for the Limestone Saints. The Saints' Andre Coleman made the Coker game one to remember.
Coleman made all eight of his three-pointers to lead Limestone to an 82-65 win over homestanding Coker on Monday.
Coleman finished with 26 points on 9 for 10 shooting from the floor.
"Andre Coleman really shot the ball well," Limestone coach Larry Epperly said. "He just made shots."
Epperly praised Coleman's unselfishness. "He only took 10 shots," the Limestone coach said. "We really shared the ball and played together."
Leading by five at the break, the Saints went on a run in the second half to break the game open.
"When we had a chance to put the game away, we did," Epperly said.
Shawn Poppie had 16 points and six rebounds while Terrell Smith had 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Saints, who improve to 5-2 in conference play.
Ryan Fulwood had 18 points and Jason Fulwood added 17 for Coker, who falls to 0-7 in the CVAC.
The Saints shot an outstanding 55 percent from the field. Coker made just 41 percent of its shots.
"We played good defense and we rebounded well," Epperly said. "We had a lot of energy and the guys are playing with confidence."
The Saints travel to conference foe Erskine on Thursday.
