Gaffney delegates to convene Approximately 100 delegates from the Gaffney area will convene for a two-day gathering of Jehovah's Witnesses for religious instruction Jan. 20-21 at Assembly Hall, 3401 Old Concord Road, Salisbury, N.C. The program will highlight the theme, "Store Up Treasures in Heaven." The more than 1,000 expected to assemble will hear discourses and experiences as well as view re-enactments emphasizing the need to prioritize in the use of time and material assets. Attendees will be urged to note that while it is wise to protect assets, plan ahead for one's children as well as for emergencies, history has shown that material things are transient and easily perishable. In contrast, enriching one's life spiritually and strengthening one's relationships with God has eternal value. Gary J. Ellis, district traveling minister, will deliver the featured discourse, "How Can You Survive Jehovah's 'Day of Fury'?" at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21. The speaker will answer such questions a "What evidence is there that this day is near and what can one do to ensure survival?" Sessions will begin at 9:50 a.m. and conclude at 3:55 p.m. Saturday and 3:35 p.m. Sunday. The public is invited to attend without charge or collection. |
