Local woman named to state board

Judy Nix, director of development for the Cherokee Children's Home, has been elected president of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Association of Children's Homes and Family Services. The association has approximately 45-member agencies from across the state. Nix has served in several capacities on the board in the past.

The goal of the association is to assist member agencies in accomplishing their missions while improving conditions for children and families in South Carolina. They offer training, supplemental funding for much of the training and provide a means of inter-communication, support and cooperation between its members in matters of mutual interest.

"I am very honored to have been elected to this position and look forward to the year ahead," said Nix.
