Limestone College teams will be playing sports under a new conference name next fall.

The Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference will change its name to Conference Carolina and unveiled its new logo Thursday in an announcement by conference commissioner Dr. Alan Patterson and conference executive committee chair and Coker College President Dr. James Dawson. The change will take effect June 1.

Membership in the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas will remain at 11 schools. Members include: Limestone College, Anderson University (Anderson, S.C.), Barton College (Wilson, N.C.), Belmont Abbey College (Belmont, N.C.), Coker College (Hartsville, S.C.); Erskine College (Due West, S.C.); Mount Olive College (Mount Olive, N.C.); Pfeiffer University (Miseheimer, N.C.); Queens University of Charlotte; and St. Andrews Presbyterian College (Laurinburg, N.C.)

Converse College (Spartanburg) is an affiliate member.
