John William Cook III and Diana Lynn Wabnitz Deborah and Dennis Wabnitz of Valrico, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Diana Lynn, to John William Cook III of Gaffney.

Miss Wabnitz is the granddaughter of Jessie Doxsey of Clearwater, Fla., Lester Wabnitz and Jill Wabnitz/Schank of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the late Paul L. Doxsey. She graduated from Northside Christian School in St. Pete, Fla., and USC Upstate, where she majored in psychology.

Mr. Cook is the son of Melanie and John William Cook Jr. of Chesnee. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnston, the late John William Cook Sr. and the late Juanita C. Cook. A graduate of Gaffney High School, he is employed by Freightliner Custom Chassis.

The couple will be married on April 14 West End Baptist Church.
