.Lost Penny Day is held each year on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, Feb. 12. The purpose of the special day is to collect pennies that have been forgotten about (like in pockets, car floorboards, sofas, etc.) and donate them to a local charity. This will be the Cherokee County Senior Centers' fifth annual "Lost Penny Day" and they are asking everyone to find lost pennies and take them to the Gaffney or Blacksburg centers by Feb. 12. All donations of pennies will be used for the home-delivered meal program. For more information, call 487-2725.
