SMYRNA - Teresa Gail Byars Humphries, 50, of 114 Humps Hill Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at her home.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Daniel Walker Sr. and daughter of Artie Mae Whelchel Byars and the late Roy Davis Byars. She was a member of Cherokee Falls Fellowship Missionary Church and also worked as a LPN at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Melissa Gail Dixon and husband, Kevin, Dana Broome Scruggs and husband, Son, and Johnnie Latanya Humphries and husband, Steven Pierce, all of Smyrna; a son, Michael Wayne Byars of Gaffney; two sisters, Alice Martin of the home and Ella Sue Byars of New York; and grandchildren, Tiara Scruggs, Kelsi Dixon, Justice Pierce, Juliane Pierce Kadyn Dixon and Trista Scruggs, all of Smyrna.

She was preceded in death by spouse, Edward Rochelle Broome Jr. and Johnny Humphries; brother, Robert Davis Byars; sisters, Nancy Raines and Becky Lanier; and nephew, Tamarlane Peterson

Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Falls Fellowship Missionary Church, conducted by the Revs. Gregg Martin, Lucky Earls and Bobby Earls. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Son Scruggs, Lance Manley, Billy Joe Smith, Jerry Martin, Kevin Dixon, Chad Wyatt, Keith Ramsey and Robbie Byars.

Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Dover.

Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

The family is at the home, 114 Humps Hill Road, Smyrna.
