Hospice seeking volunteers Hospice Care of South Carolina Cherokee County is seeking caring and compassionate people to provide emotional support and comfort to families and patients. Volunteer opportunities include visits, writing letters, running errands, office assistance, group projects, and more. Most importantly, volunteering one to two hours per week will make a difference in the lives of others. Individuals, couples, and friends can volunteer. All volunteers receive comprehensive training with a focus on teaching the hospice philosophy and the responsibilities and duties of caring for patients and their families. Training also covers the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects related to end of life. Groups of any age are encouraged to participate in hospice projects. Schools, colleges, church groups, and community organizations can serve in a variety of ways. The staff is available to speak to groups about the benefits of volunteering their time to the families of Hospice Care of South Carolina.
