A fire Monday that destroyed a mobile home at 117 Sparks St., Gaffney, is believed to have been caused by careless smoking, said Gaffney Fire Inspector Nathan Ellis. The 3:30 p.m. fire started in the area of a living room couch in the front of the house. Luisa Burlon Earls, 80, of 902 N. Logan St.t, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Moena, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelo Burlon and Teresina Gubert Burlon and widow of Howard Earls.
