A Gaffney man claims he was the victim of a strongarm robbery while riding his bicycle in Blacksburg.

James Nesbitt Jenkins, 29, of 118 Monticello St., told police he was riding his bicycle at 100 Bolin Road on Saturday at 12:30 a.m. when a truck pulled up alongside him, according to an incident report on file at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department.

Jenkins described the vehicle as a Chevrolet S-10 model truck with chrome rims.

Several white males jumped out of the back of the truck and began to strike Jenkins about the head and body with closed fists, the incident report states.

Jenkins told police one of the suspects removed his wallet from his pants pocket and took $60 from it.

All of the men then left in the truck. No suspects had been identified as of Sunday afternoon.

Jenkins described one of the assailants as 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds and wearing a black coat.

Two other suspects were listed in the incident report as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

The report states one suspect had a tribal tattoo on his neck. Another suspect had numerous tattoos on his arms.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
