James Raymond (Buck) Giles, 75, of 890 Bonner Lake Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late James A. Giles and Thelma Kennedy Giles. He was retired from Wren High School as an assistant principal. Mr. Giles was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a Mason and member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving is a sister, Jenny Blackwood and husband, Sam, of Gaffney; a niece, Bonnie Byars of Gaffney and a nephew, Bruce Blackwood, also of Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 805 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the home of Sam and Jenny Blackwood, 139 Ramsey Heights.
