Gaffney boys track coach James Davis was all smiles after his team's performance at a four-team meet at Broome.

Anthony Tyus, who won the 100 meters and teamed with Garrett Bridges, Kerry Foster and Dennis Dawkins to capture 4x100 meter relay, led the Indians to victories over Broome, Chesnee and Chapman.

Antonio Lipscomb finished first in the 800 meters. Dawkins also won the 400 meters.

Darius Dawkins was strong in the field events, winning the shot put and discus for the Indians, who have an overall record of 3-1.

"It was an excellent performance," Davis said. "Coming back so soon from a meet at Dorman, the team did great."

In the girls competition, the Lady Indians beat Chesnee and Broome and lost to Chapman.

Tiffany Posey won the shot put and discus, while Shamaka Adams won the 100 meters and anchored the 4x100 meter relay team to a first-place finish.

The Indians will travel to Rock Hill on Thursday for a meet with the Bearcats and Indian Land.
