¦ The Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education invites the public to its 20th annual College/Career Day on Saturday, March 17, at the Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Building, 1505 Old Post Road, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Representatives from various colleges and universities as well as career professionals will be available to answer questions. Special entertainment will be provided and lunch will be provided.

¦ The Christian Education Ministry of Mount Tabor Baptist Church will sponsor a memorial balloon release service following morning worship Sunday. Balloons will be released in honor of deceased family and friends. All proceeds will go towards the "Keeping the Dream Scholarship Fund" at Mount Tabor.

¦ The Mount Tabor Baptist Church family will celebrate the church's138th anniversary Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Smith, pastor of Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Simpsonville, will be guest speaker. Rev. Smith will be accompanied by his choirs and congregation.

¦ The YWA Ministry of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church invites the public to attend its women wearing white program Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Juanita Dewberry, associate minister of Bethel Baptist Church.

¦ The YWAs of Bethel Baptist Church will sponsor their annual Rainbow Tea and Fashion Show Saturday, March 17, at 5 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased from any member of the YWAs or at the door. Everyone is invited to come and share in an afternoon of entertainment and fellowship.

¦ Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg will have a hash sale Saturday, March 17, from 9 a.m. until. The hash will be sold at the church and at Wal-Mart in Gaffney. Proceeds will go to the Rock Springs Baptist Church Building Fund and is sponsored by the church's deacons.

¦ New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 154 Roundtree Road, will be celebrating its 52and anniversary on Sunday at 5 p.m. Pastor Theodore Armstrong and the Springfield Baptist Church of Stanley, N.C., will be guests.

Fund raisers

¦ A St. Patrick's Day dinner will be held Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1600 Floyd Baker Blvd. The menu is corned beef and cabbage, red potatoes, dessert and drink. Tickets are $8 per person and may be purchased at the door.

¦ The Cherokee County Red Cross, in honor of Red Cross Month, will be hosting its first ARC Kids Day on Saturday, March 17. There will be two agespecific "Masters of Disasters' classes at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided along with T-shirt painting for the children. The event is free. Activities will be at the Cherokee County Service Center, 301 N. Limestone St.
