PIG BOWL PLAYERS

Local police raised $450 Saturday to help Delmar Patterson, who has been diagnosed with Hodgkins' lymphoma cancer, during an annual flag football game between the Gaffney Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. That money is in addition to approximately $2,000 that has already been raised. A raffle for a Carolina Panthers autographed football is being held to raise more money for the Limestone College student. Raffle tickets can be purchased from police officers or at area police departments. Gaffney Police registered its first Pig Bowl victory in the history of the game over the Sheriff's Office Saturday by a score of 19-12. Patterson is pictured here holding the football with members of both teams.
