SHELBY - Katie Louise Mullinax, 87, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Century Care of Shelby.

Born Aug. 2, 1919, in Cherokee County, she was the widow of Brawley Mullinax and daughter of the late Junie Grubb and the late Lillian Greene Grubb. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gaffney.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mullinax was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

Surviving are a daughter, Frances Bowen of Shelby; a granddaughter; four greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mary Powell.

Graveside services were held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Phil Hughes.

Visitation was held Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services in Shelby and also at the cemetery following the service.
