CHARLOTTE - Virginia Meda Hollifield Ramsey, 79, a resident of Charlotte Healthcare, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late David Hoyle Hollifield and Estelle Ruth Lavender Hollifield. She was the widow of Marvin Lee Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey was retired from CNA and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Billy Ramsey and Jerry Ramsey, both of Charlotte; three sisters, Joan Green and Carolyn Goodson, both of Blacksburg, and Brenda Yow of Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Following the visitation, graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Grady Gregory at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery.
