Miss Arrowood, Mr. Stepp speak vows

MRS. BRYAN PATRICK STEPP (JODI LEIGH ARROWOOD) MRS. BRYAN PATRICK STEPP (JODI LEIGH ARROWOOD) Jodi Leigh Arrowood of Boiling Springs and Bryan Patrick Stepp of Inman were united in marriage on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Carlisle Wesleyan Church. The groom's father, the Rev. Michael Stepp, officiated the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Mrs. Stepp is the daughter of Mary Dabbs Johnson and Joseph Lee Arrowood of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Clarence Dabbs of Lockhart and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Newton Arrowood who resided in Gaffney. A graduate of Gaffney Senior High School, she received a B.A. degree magna cum laude from Converse College in Elementary Education and Psychology. She earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Winthrop University and is employed by Cherokee County School District No. 1.

Mr. Stepp is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Dennis Michael Stepp Sr. of Inman and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John William Gregory of Pacolet, Eva Mae Stepp of Converse and the late Jim Lloyd Stepp. A graduate of Boiling Springs High School, he is an honor graduate of Southern Wesleyan University, where he received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and Master of Education. He is employed by Spartanburg County School District No. 2.

Mr. and Mrs. Stepp are making their home in Boiling Springs after a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They plan a spring trip to Florida.

Musicians were Allison Duvall, pianist, and Kevin Holmes, saxophonist. Nikki Cates sang "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." Dennis Stepp and Michelle Stepp, brother and sister of the groom, performed "The Prayer" as a duet during the lighting of the unity candle.

The church was adorned for the candlelight service with traditional Christmas decorations. The altar was enhanced by poinsettias and greenery and a backdrop was provided by a Christmas tree decorated with gold ribbon, cranberries and ornaments. The windows were complemented with candles in the windowsills which provided a wintery glow.

Given in marriage by her par- ents, the bride was attired in a satin strapless gown designed by Casablanca. The bodice was adorned with crystals and pearls while the back of the dress fell into a semi-cathedral train embellished with crystals and pearls designed to reflect the holiday season. Her veil was a classic design falling slightly below the elbow. She carried a bouquet of Christmas red roses accented with champagne ribbon.

Matron of honor was Holly Gilmore Hayes of Chapin. Bridesmaids were Alisha Wilson Bridges of Inman; Heather Martin Morris of Gaffney, cousin of the bride; Denise Michelle Stepp of Inman, sister of the groom; Emily Margaret Grigg of Gaffney; and Amy Elizabeth Sheehan of Columbia.

The bridesmaids wore strapless claret red satin gowns. The back of the bodices featured a boxknot sash that extended to floorlength. They carried hand-tied nosegays of ivory roses accented with red cranberries and ivory and gold ribbon.

Devin James Morris of Union, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The groom was attended by his brother, Dennis Michael Stepp Jr., of Inman, as best man. Groomsmen were Camden Eric Rogers, Harold Douglas Cantrell, cousin of the groom, both of Chesnee; Michael William Reese of Spartanburg; Andrew Thurmond Caldwell of High Point, N.C.; and Michael David Baker of Clemson.

Ushers were Jacob Mitchell Landon, Timothy Lyle Morton, both of Boiling Springs and Ryan Michael Plantin of Spartanburg.

Catherine Painter Pruett of Rock Hill, Leslie Middleton Kuhl of Spartanburg and Amy Johnson Stepp, sister-in-law of the groom, of Inman attended the guest register.

Kimberly Jones was the wedding director and Brendall Kyle Mathis operated the sound system.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church. Guests were greeted by Misty Nicole Link and Bo Heng Lim.

Prior to the wedding, a number of showers and parties were given in honor of the couple.

On Sept. 2, a miscellaneous shower was hosted by Mary Johnson, Lori Briggs and Heather Martin at the home of Ms. Briggs.

On Sept. 16, a lawn and tool shower was hosted by Dennis Stepp at the Carlisle Wesleyan Church Fellowship Building.

On Oct.15, a dinner party in honor of the couple was hosted by Kay Grigg and Emily Grigg at their home.

On Nov. 4, a lingerie shower was hosted by Holly Hayes in the Bain Room in Wilson Hall at Converse College.

On Nov.12, a miscellaneous shower was hosted by the Carlisle Wesleyan Women at the Carlisle Wesleyan Church Fellowship Building.

On Nov. 21, a Christmas shower was hosted by Becky Wheeler, Judy Clary and Vanessa Rollins at the home of Mrs. Wheeler.

On Nov. 29, a tool party was hosted by the Boiling Springs Junior High School faculty in the media center.
