¦ American Legion Post No. 109 is now accepting nominations for the "Hall of Bravery." The memorial service this year will be on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. The deadline for submitting nominations is April 2. ¦ Attention - All former Camellia Society debutantes (1995 through 2005) may attend the 2007 Camellia Ball by requesting an invitation. The ball will be held on April 21 at 8 p.m. at the Marriott Ballroom in Spartanburg. There is a cost of $25 per person paid on or before April 1.

¦ There will be a Singles Conference, themed "Bruised But Not Broken," on Saturday, May 5, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Leroy Springs Complex in Chester. Registration is free and lunch will be served. The pre-registration deadline is April 21. The conference is open to singles, widowed, divorced and youths ages 15 and up. Guest speakers include Minister Veronica Reynolds of Columbia and Pastor Annie McFadden of Chester. Music ministry will be provided by Rane Tomalinson of Charlotte with dance ministry by RaChell Hefney of Rock Hill and Kharon Stalling of Charlotte. ¦ AA meetings are held at 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the building behind Limestone Methodist Church on Carlisle Street. If you have a problem with alcohol, you are welcome to attend.
