Retired from Magnolia Finishing

Dorothy Boyd Peeler, 77, of 316 Providence Road, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Lee Master Peeler and daughter of the late Johnny Boyd and the late Viola Osborne Boyd. She was a member of True Holiness Church, where she was the 'Mother of the Church" and was a member of the Senior Choir, the Missionary and the Pastor's Aid. A member of the NAACP, she was retired from Magnolia Finishing Company.

Surviving are six daughters, Dorothy Peeler of the home, Mary L. Peeler of Atlanta, LaVerne Peeler, Janice Peeler, Joyce Jefferies, all of Gaffney, and Nettie Peeler James of Charlotte; three brothers, Nathaniel Boyd of Charlotte, Roscoe Boyd of Winston- Salem and Eddie Boyd Sr. of Gaffney; five sisters, Hettie Gaffney, Nettie Boyd, Lucille Oglesby, all of Gaffney, Thelma Hoyle of Gastonia and Lillie B. Fuller of Spartanburg; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are incomplete. Foster Funeral Home is in charge.
