James (Jimmy) Jones
Former employee of Cherokee Small Engines and C.B. Poole
James Pinkney Jones, 80, of 2389 Love Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2007, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Jonesville, he was the son of the late Robert Jones and Valoree Blanton Jones and husband of Inez Robinson Jones. He was formerly employed by Cherokee Small Engines and also C.B. Poole, where he was a salesman. Mr. Jones was the former Education Director at East Gaffney Baptist Church. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. In addition to his wife, surviving are four sons, Rodney Jones and wife, Anne, of Alabama, Gary Jones and wife, Michelle, of Gaffney, Tom Jones and wife, Kaye, of Columbia, and Marshall Jones and wife, Lori, also of Gaffney; a daughter, Sonya Holder and husband, Jim, of Gaffney; 13 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Visitation was held Sunday from 3-4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel, immediately following the visitation, and were conducted by the Revs. Gene Daggerhart and Rodney Cook. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 400 Overbrook Drive, Gaffney, S.C., 29341; or to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
