Saints crush Crusaders; stay unbeaten in CVAC

The Saints jumped to a 4-0 first-quarter lead en route to a 13-7 victory over their CVAC rivals.
Limestone improves to 2-0 in the conference and 5-1 overall. The Crusaders remain winless in the CVAC at 0-3.
Teddy Prager, Allen Vaughn, Colin Bell and Greg Kacinko each had two goals for the Saints, who led 6-3 at intermission.
Michael Poerstel, Derek Franzen, Ryan Collins, Spencer Wims and Matt Pinder also scored for Limestone.
Jay Tranello paced the Saints with three assists.
Poerstel and Prager also had two assists, while Bell and Vaughn each had one.
Limestone goalkeeper Marty Ward was credited with 23 saves.
Crusader netminder Mark Kelske had 15 saves.
The Saints extended their lead to 8-4 at the end of the third period.
C.J. Robinson and Ryan Matthes each had three goals for the Crusaders. Jim Ring had the other goal for Belmont Abbey, which drops to 1-6 overall.
Saint midfielder Nick Chandler was a big factor, winning 10 of 17 faceoffs.
Limestone travels to Tampa, Fla., to play Deep South Conference's Saint Leo on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
