Book signing to be held at library
Mystery writer Mignon Ballard will hold a book signing April 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.
Ballard will have a question and-answer session and autograph books while discussing her latest mystery novel "The Angel and The Jabberwocky Murders," Cherokee County Public Library program director Kenny Covington said. The book is the sixth in the author's popular Augusta Goodnight mystery series.
Covington became familiar with Ballard while handling promotional work for Barnes & Noble in Spartanburg.
"Mystery aficionados will really enjoy the chance to meet Mignon and get a chance to talk with her about her newest book," Covington said.
The main character is a guardian angel "temp" who never turns down dessert. Some of Goodnight's favorite recipes are now enjoyed by the Fort Mill author's five grandchildren and are posted on her Web site (www.mignonballard.com).
The desserts include lemon mystery, Augusta's Strawberry Bread and Elf Krispies.
Along with an appetite for mysteries and desserts, Ballard is the author of the award-winning children's novel "Aunt Matilda's Ghost." She has appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list with adult mystery books such as "Raven Rock," "Final Curtain" and "Deadly Promise."
